Paradise Enough Wines was established by John Bell and Sue Armstrong in 1987. The first vineyard was planted in a secluded clearing surrounded by 100 acres of old native forest. Soon afterwards John and Sue built a home and settled there with their young family. As vineyards were planted they were named after each of the children. Sue continues to handle sales and the cellar door whilst John is the winemaker and oversees the vineyards. At small, family run wineries such as this the wines are truly hand crafted. You will meet those who know the wines best in a peaceful and friendly setting where you can relax, breathe the fresh air and listen to the birds.
Children are welcome and may enjoy giving Lottie and Mike some hay. Beckie and Elsie, the vineyard dogs will greet you when you arrive and Jim the bunnie may (or may not) be on the lawn. |

Our Winemaking Philosophy |
|
At Paradise Enough we make wine using traditional methods hundreds of years old. This starts in the vineyard where we refuse to irrigate the vines and then prune hard to keep crop levels low to give greater richness to the fruit. In the winery we ferment the grapes in individual barrels to give more control and quality. We don't filter or fine (chemically clarify) the wines. Instead we give them extra time to settle naturally. These practices can only be carried out on a small scale like ours, but they give real advantages in purity and finesse to the wines. We do all our own bottling and packaging. In every sense the wines are hand crafted. |
